Cricket was not that popular in the USA, therefore a non-commercial organization set a goal of promoting this kind of sport in America. The Cricket Hall of Fame installed athletes from all over the world to contribute to the development of the game.
In the early 1981, the first Cricket Hall of Fame was founded in Hartford, Connecticut. This is not the case that this Cricket Hall became popular at once, but after some attempts it was really so.
In the late 1981 there was the first official Cricket Hall of Fame dinner at Hartford Hotel. There were a lot of different sports celebrities there. However, the founders decided to move this ceremony to New York, which resulted itself in the loss of fans and led to a complete fading of the Cricket Hall of Fame.
Nowadays, after a real fight on the part of Linford Miller in 1997, the Cricket Hall of Fame has become the leader in contributing to the charities. Thus, it comes closer to its main goal of becoming a museum.
Every individual who has something pertaining to the world historic significance are asked to make a contribution to the museum’s collection. If you stand for cricket and you are a true cricket fan, the Cricket Hall of Fame is what you must see.
