I save my dog’s life with dog wormer

By: Sandy Scott

I never thought that my dog, Bruce, will have to confine himself to the vet for a day or two. He has been taken care of very well, from his food to his luxury grooming. I treat Bruce like my very own child and I even meet his whims like a pack of pedigree for his meals. But he suddenly became weak the previous days. It all started when my cousin took him for the morning jog at the park and left him with another dog to buy some food. Maybe it is through that dog that he became sick. And now I am here at his veterinarian to consult his health condition. I can’t take it if anything happens to him. Waiting for the results is such a bore as the doctor’s assistant cannot entertain me. He is outside the office and receives a few boxes of dog wormer from the supplier.

Every second that pass gives me goose bumps. I can’t imagine how he suffers right now and imagine that his condition is life-threatening. He loses weight for only two days, has tarry looking stools and became weak. He looked pale as I bring him here at the clinic.

My heart palpitates as the veterinarian draw toward my direction. To my amazement he give me a huge smile and said that Bruce condition is not as complicated as I think but it is indeed life-threatening when left unattended. He invited me at his office and said that Bruce is attended by his assistant after he received the dog wormer supplies an hour ago.

I seated comfortably at his cushioned office chair while he explains to me Bruce health condition. He said that Bruce currently is affected by a few tapeworms. I argued to the doctor that we set strict hygiene at home and it is impossible that Bruce got affected by such. Then I remembered when he was set out for the morning jog. The veterinarian later explained that Bruce can be treated with a few doses of dog wormer.

Canine intestinal infection is normal. He prescribed febendazole as the dog wormer. He said that aside from tape worms, this dog wormer could also treat other intestinal parasites like hookworms and ringworms if ever they also exist on Bruce stomach. This is cheaper that other dog wormer products and there are no contradictions observed.

He gave me the prescription and recommended he also have some at the clinic but I also have the option to buy outside. I chose to buy the dog wormer from him rather than going out anywhere to reduce the hassle.

He emphasized however that Bruce should not be confined only to the house. He should have the resistance to diseases by taking some exercise aside from the vitamins. I am very thankful to the dog wormer as it save Bruce life.
