No Time to Standby - Convert VHS Tapes To DVDs As Rapidly As Possible

By: Isaiah Henry

In many ways we are a disposable society; we use something once, throw it away and replace it with a new one. Memories cannot be replaced. Youll never again have the opportunity to record your wedding day, your parents 50th wedding anniversary, kids birthdays, etc. Today, a lot of people still have those most precious memories stored on out-of-date VHS tapes. The VCR is going the way of the dinosaur and soon you wont be able to find one even if you want to. So, if your fondest memories are still captured in VHS format, it is time to make the move by converting them to the latest technology convert them to DVDs.

Many of us have store our most important memories on the old VHS tapes; our wedding day, our childrens baptisms and birthdays, parents anniversaries, summer vacations and a great deal more. If this footage is lost because the VHS tapes wear out, or you have no way of playing them back, you may lose those invaluable images forever. There is no reason to run such a risk; not when all of the technology you need to convert the tapes to DVDs is readily available.

There is absolutely no reason to run the risk of losing this precious footage. All you need to do is to convert VHS tapes to the digital technology offered in DVDs. DVDs have many benefits, not the least of which being they produce clearer, sharper images with better audio as well. VHS tapes are bulky and require at least 10-15 times the storage space a single DVD does. And, a DVD holds many, many more hours on a single disk than a VHS tape does. Another good reason to convert to DVDs is the ability you will have to make multiple copies; this is important for a couple of reasons.

One of the best products on the market that you can use to convert your VHS tapes to DVDs is Pinnacle Systems MovieBox 9.0. MovieBox includes cutting-edge Studio 9.0 software and MovieBox Hardware. You may choose to work with another program, other than MovieBox. If you do, be sure the one you choose offers similar hardware/software packages. Dont spend your hard-earned money on a program that includes only the software, or only the hardware you will need them both. Buying them separately can cost you double at least.

If you have heard converting VHS to DVDs is difficult, youve heard wrong. It is not a difficult process at all and well worth the time invested. Once youve converted one tape to DVD, youll likely go on to convert all of your VHS tapes. All you need to convert the tapes is: a personal computer, a VCR, a device to convert VCRs analog signals to digital, editing software, A/V cables and blank DVDs. A great program to consider using is Pinnacle Systems MovieBox 9.0. This package includes cutting-edge Studio 9.0 software along with MovieBox hardware. If you choose to work with another program, be sure you get one that includes the whole package you need both the software and the hardware (like that found in MovieBox). Do not buy them separately as it will cost you at least twice as much and you will have no guarantee that they are compatible.
