This is what I would be saying if I did not find this amazing online dating site last year and met Clara Rodgers, my first and current girlfriend. Online dating has changed my life for the good and now I feel liberated and happy with my life.

It was the summer of 2001 and I was in my last year in college and was working part-time at this departmental store. So after my shift I came back home and went online to check my mail. I was not really surprised to see my mail box filled with mails from these various dating sites that I had signed up for. But all these dollars went to a waste because every single girl I wrote to or added in instant messaging never replied back or just deleted me from their buddy list after talking to me for a few days. Naturally I was not thrilled with all these mails and I have been actually considering signing out from these sites or just waiting till my subscriptions ran out. But I was not paying much attention to online personal ads or visiting any more online dating sites, I was so frustrated with the system of online dating that I was not even willing to sign up for the free online dating sites.

But that summer night had something totally out of line stored for me. Just as I was about to go to bed I could hear the message received sound of my instant messenger. I was thinking it was some one from my math club asking how my summer vacation was going so I thought I should check. Apparently it was an unknown person who just added me as a buddy and was asking me if I was in front of the computer or not and I could tell it was a girl from her profile picture. I thought to myself, why not just save myself another misery and get a couple of minutes of more sleep than talk to an unknown girl who would eventually block me and delete me from her buddy list.

For some weird reason, I felt this urge to reply back and just engage in small talk, so I messaged her back. And that message created a whole new part of my life and the saga of Clara and my love story. I spend half the night talking to her and she put me at such an ease that I just kept on talking and talking and she was a little chatter box herself too. She said that she liked my profile for the simplicity and the honesty with which I wrote it out. She apparently had this hunk as a boyfriend but he was cheating on her so she broke up with him and signed in on online dating sites just for the fun of it. Our conversation was very casual really, she even asked me where she can find the best online dating sites and if all the dating sites were free or not. I gave her as much information I knew but realized that time really flew by and it was four in the morning and I was so going to be late for work today.

That was that for that night but I kept coming back for more and more every day and it did not take me much time to realize that she wanted my company too and we eagerly waited for each other every night. Little by little we started learning a lot about each other and gradually we got closer and met up face to face and have had incredible dates every single time. Now I can say that “My name is Steven Marshall and I am 25 years old and I found the love of my life – ONLINE DATING SITES”
