If avoiding the glare on your television or the eyes of a nosy neighbor concern you, then you have to steer clear of sheer. But if both of those concerns do not apply, sheer curtains can provide a light, intimate feel that will bring your living room to life. If you need to worry about light control and privacy, then follow the prescription for the bedroom, and you should be fine.

For the Bath

The bathroom can be a tricky room to take care of. You obviously want privacy, but your bathroom window is most likely placed in such a way that it will allow for solitude anyway. This means that your options can be endless. But be careful. Bathroom windows tend to fall in odd shapes and sizes. Be sure to measure very carefully before buying. Using a simple shade or blind is very popular in bathrooms because they are more flexible. They can be latched inside or outside the window, and relieve the concern over unusual sized windows somewhat.

Kitchen and Dining

Kitchens and dining rooms give you a chance to really have fun. There is little need for light control or privacy in either room (at least for most people), and you have freedom to try out almost any curtain style you like. Sheer, damask, cotton or a simple shade can all work well. In these two rooms you are given the ability to be extremely creative. One popular type of curtain stands out not because of fabric, but because of shape. This curtain is designed in the shape of an hourglass, and provides a perfect decorative flair. But if your budget is really tight, be careful. This style requires two curtain rods.

With these factors in mind, you are ready to begin your search for the right curtains. Over the course of your shopping, do not neglect accenting touches such as valences, tassels, and decorative rods. These features can make almost any style of curtain stand out and make a room shine.
