Home study is today more popular than ever before, with a myriad of courses that can be studied from the comfort of home.
Research has shown that the need to improve income, without forgoing existing job commitments, is the top reason why people return to studying at home after leaving school, university or college. The top ten reasons to home study are:-

1. Want to improve income
2. Want to increase job and promotion prospects
3. Can’t return to full the education due to family commitments
4. Need a qualification for promotion
5. Want to prove to themselves they can do it
6. Because they left school with no formal qualifications
7. To do something useful with their time
8. Want the flexibility of studying in own time, not at college
9. Feel too old go back to college
10. Want to do something useful in retirement

Older students, even if they’ve only been away from full time education for a couple of years, find it hardest to return to studying. Many of them will have much greater financial commitments than when they were at school or college, they find the discipline of a college itinerary hard to stick to and a lot of our students have already started families.
